Pedestrian Killed in Poway Cras at Edgemoor Street and Midland Road
POWAY, CA (December 3, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Edgemoor Street and Midland Road in Poway.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 9 a.m.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was walking her dog within the marked crosswalk in Poway. At the same time, a Ford Ranger stopped at the intersection of Edgemoor Street and Midland Road.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s office said the car then made a left turn onto Midland to go south.
Woman, 69, Hit by Car
The 35-year-old man driving the Ford failed to see the victims and failed to yield the right-of-way to them. In the process, the driver struck the 69-year-old woman.
The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed her to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where she soon died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Edgemoor and Midland to shut down for a time after the accident.
