At around 9:00 a.m., the driver of an older Mazda had been heading westbound on Twins Peaks before crossing into eastbound traffic and slamming into a 09′ Ford F-150.
A total of five motorists inside the two vehicles suffered injuries.
The 48-year-old man driving the Ford and his two children each suffered minor to moderate injuries as they were all taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
The Mazda driver, a 22-year-old man, and his passenger, a 19-year-old, were both severely injured and rushed to Palomar Med Center.
Police officials believe the Mazda driver had been under the influence of both alcohol and drugs as drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle. The article also indicated the same 22-year-old man had been arrested a week prior for similar charges.
