Pedestrian Injured in Poway Crash at Rancho Bernardo and Summerfield
POWAY, CA (November 18, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a crash at Rancho Bernardo Road and Summerfield Lane in Poway.
The San Diego Union-Tribune wrote that the accident took place on Thursday. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:40 p.m. on Rancho Bernardo where it becomes Espola Road.
The sheriff’s office said a Ford Econoline struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in Poway. The large van hit her on Rancho Bernardo Road at the intersection with Summerfield Lane.
Woman, 34, Hit by Van
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived the scene and found the 34-year-old woman hurt. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took her to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and listed her in stable condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim.
Meanwhile, officials added that the 57-year-old man driving the van ended up unharmed. Officers forced the area of Rancho Bernardo and Summerfield to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Poway pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
