 Prajal Bista, 33, Fatal Crash Highway 16, County Road 97, Woodland Deadly Crash on Highway 16 Near Woodland

WOODLAND, Calif. (April 15, 2022) —  Prajal Bista, 33, of Sacramento, died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night on Highway 16 near Woodland in Yolo County.

The fatal Woodland crash happened just after 11 p.m. on April 14th, according to the Davis Enterprise and the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet Impala collided at the intersection.

Prajal Bista was reportedly driving his Honda Civic westbound on Highway 16. For unknown reasons, the car collided with a northbound Chevrolet Impala traveling on County Road 97, police said. During the collision, the Honda Civic crashed into a power pole on the northwest corner of the intersection, police said.

Also, the Chevrolet Impala struck a utility box and overturned onto its roof.

Prajal Bista, 33, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old Woodland man driving the Impala suffered major injuries in the crash.

Paramedics responded and transported the man to UC Davis Medical Center for further treatment.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, the CHP reported.
