Pratiti Mehta Arrested for Fleeing Bicycle Accident
COSTA MESA, Calif. (March 21, 2018) – Pratiti Renee Mehta, 33, of Costa Mesa was arrested last night on felony hit-and-run charges after she allegedly fled the scene of a pedestrian accident involving a bicyclist, according to the Orange County Register.
The suspect reportedly struck a 56-year-old man riding a bicycle and left the scene without stopping to help him. The rider suffered a compound ankle fracture and was taken to a hospital.
The collision took place about 8:20 a.m. at Bristol Street and Red Hill Avenue. Images of the suspect’s vehicle and the bicyclist were posted on social media and police say it helped them locate the suspect.
The Costa Mesa Police Department is heading up the investigation.
