Jesus Carlos Temores, 50, Arrested DUI Charges
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2025) — A pregnant Gilroy woman died New Year’s Day in a suspected DUI crash on Leavesley Road, just east of New Avenue in Gilroy.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:37 p.m. on Jan. 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy station.
CHP officials reported driver Jesus Carlos Temores, 50, of Mountain View, was driving at high speed in a 2008 GMC pickup truck in the eastbound lanes of Leavesley Road.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Gilroy woman was a passenger in a westbound in a 2021 Chevrolet SUV.
The pickup truck reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic at a curve in the roadway and crashed head-on into the SUV. The pickup also collided with a grey 2020 Honda sedan driven by a 34-year-old man. The SUV and pickup both had major front-end damage. The Honda wound up in a ditch.
Several other motorists stopped to help those involved.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of the pregnant woman from the SUV who was seated in the right front passenger seat of the Chevrolet.
Police arrested the pickup truck driver, Jesus Carlos Temores, on suspicion of drunk driving, KSBW reported.
Tow trucks removed all three vehicles from the roadway for evidence.
