Shandon Fatal Car Accident on Highway 46
SHANDON (May 9th, 2017)- According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, a deadly car crash occurred Tuesday evening on Highway 46 resulting in the death of a man and injuries to another man and a woman.
The collision was reported at 9:30 p.m. when the driver of an eastbound 2002 Honda Civic identified as Richard Lin, 29, of New Jersey, swerved into westbound lanes and triggered a collision with two other vehicles.
The first vehicle confirmed to have been a 2015 Honda Civic driven by Priscilla Williams, 66, was unable to avoid the collision with Lin’s vehicle as Williams broadsided the 2002 Honda Civic. Moments later Robert Chavez, the driver of a Toyota Prius, was driving behind Williams and also struck Lin’s vehicle.
Per the San Luis Obispo Tribune, Robert Lin suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
Meanwhile, both Priscilla Williams and Robert Chavez were injured and rushed to hospitals for their injuries which were described as being moderate to serious.
Police officials do not believe that either drugs or alcohol played a role in this incident.
