Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Prunedale Safeway Parking Lot Crash on Vierra Canyon
PRUNEDALE, CA (October 7, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a Prunedale crash in the Safeway parking lot on Vierra Canyon Road.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the incident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 5:35 p.m.
CHP determined that a vehicle struck a female pedestrian in the parking lot of the Safeway store. The driver hit the person for an unknown reason at 17539 Vierra Canyon Road in Prunedale.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 101. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. The cause of the Prunedale pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the parking lot of the Safeway store on Vierra Canyon Road to close for a time following the collision.
