Suspect in Deadly DUI, Hit-and-run Crash Arrested
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2024) — Quinceia McBean, 25, of Coarsegold, died in a crash Sunday at Fowler and Gettysburg avenues and a suspected DUI driver was arrested.
The Coarsegold woman died in a two-vehicle crash involving a 19-year-old Clovis man with the last name Himanshu. His first name does not appear on his driver’s license.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Dec. 1st, according to the Clovis Police Department.
The suspect was allegedly DUI and driving a Hyundai at high speed along Gettysburg Avenue towards Fowler Avenue.
Police say the motorist drove through a red light and collided with another Hyundai entering the intersection with a green light from Fowler Avenue.
The two vehicles spun out and collided with three parked vehicles, police said.
Paramedics responded and located the DUI suspect and two others from the second vehicle with injuries. They were all taken to local hospitals where the woman passenger identified as Quinceia McBean died and the driver of her vehicle remains hospitalized with major injuries.
The Clovis Police Department was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail. The suspect faces multiple charges including an infraction for being DUI under 21. His bail was set at $187,000
