Bicycle Rider Hit by Car on Main Street in Quincy
QUINCY, Calif. (August 10, 2018) — A juvenile on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle Friday morning on Main Street at the intersection with Crescent and Court streets, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place about 10:50 a.m. as the child or teen was in a crosswalk. A driver in a white Subaru Outback struck the bicycle from behind on its back wheel and then stopped and called for an ambulance.
The child apparently scraped a knee and required medical attention, but it’s unknown if there were other injuries.
Pedestrian Accident Investigation
At this time, it’s unknown who is at fault for this collision. However, it appears the child or teen was in a crosswalk and motorists are required to yield the right-of-way to all pedestrians.
We hope the child or teen who was hit gets the necessary care and gets better soon.
