Rachel Norton, 22, Seriously Injured in Stanislaus County Crash at Stuhr and Eastin
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 15, 2022) – A fatal crash seriously injured Rachel Norton at Stuhr and Eastin roads in Stanislaus County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 22-year-old Riverbank woman as one of the victims in the wreck which occurred on Friday morning.
The incident happened when Rachel Norton, 22, was driving a 2015 Toyota sedan south on Stuhr Road, approaching Eastin Road, in Stanislaus County.
At the same time, a 1999 Peterbilt tractor trailer was going east on Stuhr. The car stopped at the intersection and then entered directly into the path of the semi-truck.
1 Killed in Wreck
In the process, the big rig slammed into the driver’s side of the Toyota. The sedan rolled over and stopped in the southeast of the intersection.
The Modesto Bee and CBS Sacramento wrote that the accident took place at around 10:24 a.m. outside of Newman. Rachel Norton sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.
An air ambulance took her to the Doctor’s Medical Center for treatment. A female passenger in the car died due to the impact of the collision.
The driver of the truck, 58-year-old Los Banos resident Daniel Forte, ended up unharmed following the wreck. CHP forced the area of Stuhr and Eastin roads to shut down for a time after the incident.
The cause of the Stanislaus County crash is still under investigation.
