ABC30 News disclosed that a pickup truck was struck by the Amtrak train at roughly 12:31 p.m.
The article stated that the pickup driver likely failed to recognize that the train was coming prior to entering the train tracks.
Per the Fresno Bee, the three motorists have been identified as Rafael Alvarez, 40, Jose Antonio Macias-Aguilar, 24, and Antonio Frausto-Perez, 35.
All three victims were residents of Madera.
At total of 217 passengers were aboard the train all of who were uninjured besides the train’s conductor who sustained minor injuries.
A thorough investigation is underway and more details will be released later this evening.
