Pedestrian Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash in Mid-City
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 17, 2022) – Rafael Cabrera, 41, of Los Angeles, died Monday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The crash occurred about 10:10 p.m. on August 15th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
At least one or two vehicles struck Rafael Cabrera in the 5000 block of Venice Boulevard. Sadly he suffered major injuries and died at
the scene, the coroner’s office said.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene and noted that the victim was not in a crosswalk at the time a dark SUV hit him in the eastbound lanes of Venice Boulevard.
Police are looking into whether a second SUV also struck the victim.
The city of Los Angeles offers a standing reward of up to $50,000 to help solve fatal hit-and-run collisions. Witnesses may contact the LAPD West Traffic Division at 213-473-0234, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
