Hit-and-Run Collision on Pomona (60) Freeway
Industry, CA (March 22, 2023) – Rafael Zarate, a 50-year-old man, suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on Interstate 60, also known as Pomona Freeway.
The Press-Enterprise News reported Zarate was behind the wheel of a 2015 Toyota Corolla heading west on the freeway. When the Toyota approached the area near Crossroads Parkway, an eastbound Hyundai Sonata veered into its path. The two vehicles crashed into each other and resulted in significant damages to both cars.
Passenger Killed in Industry Car Accident
When rescue teams arrived at the scene, they found a passenger in the Toyota lifeless. Paramedics sadly pronounced the 11-year-old girl dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, Rafael Zarate, reportedly sustained major injuries. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the victim, then rushed him to a hospital for further treatment.
According to the article published online, the driver of the Hyundai fled on foot after the catastrophic collision. Investigators continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the fatal crash that happened on Pomona (60) Freeway in Industry.
