Head-on Crash Highway 138
HESPERIA, Calif. (July 25, 2023) — Ramiro Ortiz, 58, of Victorville, died in a head-on crash in Hesperia on Highway 138 between Horsethief Canyon Road and Summit Post Office Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash around 4:18 a.m. on Sunday, July 23rd.
The drivers of a white 2023 Mercedes C-Class and a dark gray Chevrolet Camaro were involved.
The driver in the Chevrolet was unresponsive following the collision and died afterwards.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner identified the man as Ramiro Ortiz. His wife Ada Ortiz said he was on his way to work when another driver who was allegedly speeding struck his vehicle.
The GoFundMe account is raising money for his funeral expenses.
Investigators are working on the case to determine the cause of the fatal crash on Highway 138 as well as liability.
