Ramon Balico, 79, Hit and Killed by Car in West Covina
WEST COVINA (December 16, 2018) – A pedestrian killed after a traffic accident in the area of Fairgrove and Sunset avenues Thursday has been identified as Ramon Balico, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Coroner’s office said the 79-year-old La Puente man was a victim of a tragic collision which occurred on December 13 just after 7 a.m.
As per the article, police said Balico and his 72-year-old wife were walking west across Sunset Avenue when they were struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze.
The 27-year-old woman driving the car was making a left turn from eastbound Fairgrove Avenue to northbound Sunset when she failed to see the couple in the crosswalk.

Police affirmed that Balico and his wife were immediately transported to County-USC Medical Center, where the man later died.
The woman was being treated for moderate injuries and was expected to recover. Her name was not released.
Meanwhile, the driver involved reportedly stopped after hitting the pedestrians and cooperated with the authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
