Man, 28, Struck, Killed on 405 Freeway in Lennox Area
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 18, 2023) — Ramon Madera, 28, died in a pedestrian accident Monday morning on the Interstate 405 Freeway in the unincorporated Lennox near LAX.
The fatal crash occurred around 3:42 a.m. on July 17th in the northbound lanes of the San Diego Freeway at Lennox Boulevard in Los Angeles County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
A driver struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances in the slow lanes of the freeway. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim as Ramon Madera on its website.
Authorities issued a SigAlert at 4:14 a.m. after they closed down the Nos. 2 through 5 lanes near the crash scene, but only the Nos. 5 and 6 lanes remained closed by 5:25 a.m., the report said.
The fatal pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
