Ramon Vasquez, 32, Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash Near Clovis and Central
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 14, 2022) – A fatal wrong-way crash seriously injured Ramon Vasquez near Clovis and Central avenues in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 32-year-old Visalia man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Saturday morning.
The incident happened when Ramon Vasquez was driving a Toyota RAV4 north on Clovis Avenue near Central Avenue in Fresno County.
At the same time, a Nissan Altima was traveling south in the northbound lane. CHP said the Nissan then slammed head-on into the Toyota.
Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Wreck
The Altima rolled over and landed partially in the lane and on the center divider. The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m.
Ramon Vasquez sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.
The wrong-way driver, a 22-year-old woman, died at the scene of the incident. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Clovis and Central avenues to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
