RAMONA, California (March 25, 2016) – According to NBC San Diego, a fatal car accident occurred at Mussey Grade Road and Thomas Paine Drive on Friday morning.
The crash took place about 11:35 a.m.
California Highway Patrol said 92-year-old Catherine Wallice, of Ramona, was driving a 2001 Saturn east on Thomas Paine when she failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by a Toyota Camry headed north at the time.
The 38-year-old woman driving the Camry was going about 45 mph and had no time to stop.
As per the article, Wallice died at the scene.
A report by UT San Diego meanwhile indicated that the 38-year-old motorist refused to be hospitalized. It was unclear if she suffered any injuries upon impact.
The incident remains under investigation.
