1 Killed, 4 Injured in Ramona Accident on Highway 78 Monday
RAMONA (December 24, 2018) – A traffic collision killed one person and injured several others along Highway 78 on Monday morning, according to ABC 10 News and CBS 8.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported shortly after 11 a.m. near West Haverford Road.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Camry was going west on Highway 78 when for an unknown reason it veered off the road and overcorrected.
The Camry then crossed the yellow lines and went directly into the path of a Dodge Ram truck which was headed east at the time. The two ultimately collided head-on.

Four people, a man, a woman and two young boys were riding the Toyota at the time. One of the children died at the scene.
The other child was flown to Children’s Hospital in San Diego with major injuries. The adult occupants of the Camry and the 77-year-old man driving the Dodge were all hospitalized with injuries ranging from moderate to major degree.
The names of the deceased and injured parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway were forced to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
