Pedestrian Killed in Ramona Crash on Main Street Near Wynola and Kalbaugh
RAMONA, CA (October 1, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash on Main Street, known as Highway 67, in Ramona.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place on Friday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the incident shortly after 9:30 p.m.
CHP determined that a vehicle struck the person running in the area. The driver hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason at 2457 Main Street in the city of Ramona.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene between Wynola Street and Kalbaugh Street. They found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that the patient later died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced a stretch of Main Street to close for a time following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Ramona pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
