Motorcyclist, 53, Seriously Injured in Ramona Crash at 3rd Street and D Street
RAMONA, CA (April 30, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash at 3rd Street and D Street in Ramona.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2 p.m.
The incident happened when a 53-year-old Ramona man was riding a Triumph motorcycle south on 3rd Street in Ramona. At the same time, a 2017 Toyota Corolla was going north.
The California Highway Patrol said the Toyota made a left turn onto D Street and drove into the path of the motorcyclist. In the process, the rider collided with the passenger side of the Corolla.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the motorcyclist suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance then took him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Toyota ended up unharmed upon impact. The 17-year-old Ramona girl stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
Authorities forced the intersection of 3rd and D streets to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Ramona crash is still under investigation.
