Driver, Passenger Killed in Collision on Bernardo Heights Parkway Near Pomerado Road Friday
Rancho Bernardo, CA (August 20, 2021) – Two people died following a car crash that occurred on Bernardo Heights Parkway Friday morning, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Our sources indicated an 18-year-old man was behind the wheel of a 2001 Mercedes E320. Officials said the motorist was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control while approaching Pomerado Road.
According to the article published online, the Mercedes drove up onto the raised center median; then eventually slammed into a tree off Bernardo Heights Parkway.
Deadly Car Crash in Rancho Bernardo, August 20
Emergency crews arrived at the site shortly after 12:45 a.m. First responders found the driver and passenger both unconscious. Due to their condition, paramedics rushed the two patients to a hospital. Sadly, the two men succumbed to their injuries and died. The names of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the fatal car crash in Rancho Bernardo.
