Man Killed in Rancho Cordova Hit-and-Run at Trinity River and Sunrise
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (November 9, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian at Trinity River Drive and Sunrise Boulevard in Rancho Cordova.
The Sacramento Bee and CBS Sacramento wrote that the tragic accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 10 p.m.
The incident happened on November 8 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Rancho Cordova. The driver hit him at the intersection of Trinity River Drive and Sunrise Boulevard.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived and found the man left lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies said the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Trinity River and Sunrise to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Rancho Cordova hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at (916) 875-9623.
