Motorcyclist Injured in Crash Involving Pickup Truck on US 50
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (May 2, 2025) — A motorcycle rider was injured Friday morning in a collision on westbound U.S. Highway 50, near Hazel Avenue in Rancho Cordova, prompting a response from emergency crews and causing traffic delays in the area.
The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. on May 2nd, between the motorcycle and a pickup truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both vehicles came to rest on the right-hand shoulder, and initial reports indicated the motorcyclist suffered road rash injuries, suggesting a possible moderate injury.
Sacramento Fire and Folsom Lake Tow responded to the scene, with the southbound Hazel Avenue onramp to westbound 50 temporarily blocked to facilitate emergency access and cleanup.
Tow services were called to remove the damaged motorcycle from the bottom of the onramp. No major traffic lane closures were reported, but drivers experienced some delays during the morning commute.
CHP is investigating the circumstances of the crash. No further details on the condition of those involved have been released.
