Rancho Cucamonga, CA (June 25, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash Friday evening on Interstate 15, also known as Ontario Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles collided in the southbound side of I-5 Freeway at Foothill Boulevard. Officials said the incident began when the driver of a black Ford Mustang challenged to a race the man behind the wheel of a Honda Civic.

When the alleged street race approached the area near Foothill Boulevard, the two cars crashed into each other. The force from the impact resulted in injuries to at least one victims. Pending confirmation, the name of the person hurt and the extent of their trauma have not been discussed thus far.

The CHP dispatch mentioned one motorist involved in the wreck fled the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
