RANCHO MIRAGE: Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After 2 Hit-and-run Crashes on Bob Hope Drive

RANCHO MIRAGE, California (August 6, 2015) — Teresa Marie Hunter, 31, of San Jacinto was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges Wednesday afternoon shortly after she struck two motorists in separate crashes on Bob Hope Drive and fled the scene, a report by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.

Police say Hunter was driving a dark blue 2009 Ford Focus southbound on Bob Hope Drive about 2:41 p.m. while she was allegedly intoxicated and she ran into the back of a black 2014 Ford Mustang near Dinah Shore Drive.   There were no injuries in this crash.

She continued driving on Bob Hope Drive and struck a second vehicle, a gray 2014 Nissan Versa at the intersection with Country Club Drive. Hunter reportedly continued driving without stopping. The people in the Nissan suffered minor injuries and were treated at a hospital and released. She kept driving until her car broke down on Highway 111.

Police later caught up with Hunter and arrested her for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run after which she was booked into the Indio jail.

Witnesses to this accident are asked to contact Officer T. Lloyd or Officer Miller with the Rancho Mirage Police Department at (760) 836-1600.
