1 Seriously Injured in Rancho Mission Viejo Crash Near La Pata and Ortega
RANCHO MISSION VIEJO, CA (September 4, 2021) – A crash seriously injured at least one person near La Pata Avenue and Ortega Highway in Rancho Mission Viejo.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:44 pm.
According to CHP, two sedans collided for an unknown reason in Rancho Mission Viejo. The cars crashed on northbound La Pata Avenue near the intersection with Ortega Highway.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log added that both vehicles obtained major front-end damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near an equestrian facility.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at the time. Meanwhile, CHP shut down the northbound La Pata near Ortega following the crash.
The cause of the car collision is still under investigation.
