1 Injured in Rancho Mission Viejo Hit-and-Run at Ortega Highway and Antonio Parkway

RANCHO MISSION VIEJO, CA (June 19, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a pedestrian at Ortega Highway and Antonio Parkway in Rancho Mission Viejo.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 6:17 a.m.

CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the village. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Ortega Highway and Antonio Parkway.

Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle Near Park

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park. They found the victim left wounded in the roadway as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose the name of the injured party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

Officers forced the intersection of Ortega Highway and Antonio Parkway to shut down following the collision. The Rancho Mission Viejo hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
