Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Rancho San Diego Crash Near Willow Glen and Hillsdale
RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA (May 23, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a bicycle rider near Willow Glen Drive and Hillsdale Road in Rancho San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team received a call about the accident on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the incident shortly after 1 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicyclist for an unknown reason in Rancho San Diego. The driver collided with the bicycle rider near the intersection of Willow Glen Drive and Hillsdale Road.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle Near County Park
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Cottonwood Two County Park. They found the cyclist suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to the Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist involved stopped after hitting the rider. Officers forced the intersection of Willow Glen and Hillsdale to close following the crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Rancho San Diego bicycle accident.
