Motorcycle Rider Dies at Hospital due to Crash Injuries
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (Oct. 11, 2021) — Randall Eric Williams, 51, of San Diego, died Friday, Oct. 8th, just days after a National City motorcycle crash.
The collision happened about 2:01 a.m. on Oct. 3rd on the Interstate 805 Freeway at Plaza Boulevard, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The 51-year-old San Diego man suffered major injuries in the collision and died five days later on Oct. 8th at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash took place as the motorcyclist drove southbound on the Interstate 805 Freeway.
The rider served to avoid a collision with another vehicle and subsequently crashed the bike. He was thrown off the motorcycle and landed roughly 50 feet away.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Randall Williams never recovered from his injuries and died at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 8th.
The CHP is heading up the investigation.
