Randolph Earl, 67, Killed in Santa Margarita Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101
SANTA MARGARITA, CA (July 13, 2021) – Randolph Earl was killed after a motorcycle crash on Highway 101 in Santa Margarita.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 67-year-old Atascadero man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Monday night.
The incident happened when Randolph Earl was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Highway 101 in Santa Margarita. At the same time, a Jeep Wrangler was going south.
CHP said the driver of the Jeep, 45-year-old Marcos Guerrero, made a left-hand turn onto Tassajara Creek Road. In the process, the Sacramento resident went directly into the path of the motorcyclist.
Motorcycle and Car Collide Near Tassajara Creek
The rider then collided with the passenger side of the car and ended up ejected from his bike. The Tribune and KSBY News wrote that the accident occurred on July 12 at around 9:40 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found Randolph Earl who sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed him to the Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, where he died. Meanwhile, Marcos Guerrero did not sustain any wound following the wreck.
Officers forced a portion of Highway 101 to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the Santa Margarita crash is still under investigation.
