Randy Mitchell Seriously Injured in Lake Oroville Hit-and-Run Boating Incident
LAKE OROVILLE, CA (June 4, 2021) – A hit-and-run boating incident injured Randy Mitchell on Lake Oroville over the weekend.
Action News Now and Red Bluff News wrote that the man was the victim of the accident which occurred on Saturday afternoon.
The incident began when rough water on Lake Oroville threw Randy Mitchell from a jet ski. For an unknown reason, a passing vessel then struck him near the Bidwell Bar Bridge.
His daughter, who was with him at the time, took him at the Loafer Creek Launch Ramp ramp area. Paramedics arrived and found Randy Mitchell suffering from major injuries as a result of the boating accident.

He sustained multiple cracked ribs, a damaged spleen, punctured lung, and a broken pelvis. Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital where he underwent surgery.
The collision happened on May 29 at around 5 p.m. near the Highway 162 suspension bridge. Meanwhile, the operator of the vessel did not stop to render aid to the victim.
The suspect left and drove in the direction of Bidwell Canyon Marina or the main body of the lake. State Park Rangers described the vessel as a light blue colored boat with a tower.
They added that several men were aboard the boat, possibly a wakeboard style vessel, when the crash took place. The Lake Oroville hit-and-run caused Randy Mitchell to go through another operation.
