Raul Luna, 43, Killed in Hesperia Crash at Cottonwood and Sequoia
HESPERIA, CA (October 20, 2022) – Raul Luna was killed after a car crash at Cottonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street in Hesperia.
The coroner’s identified the 43-year-old Hesperia man as one of the victims in the fatal wreck which on Sunday.
The incident happened when Raul C. Luna was driving a 2010 Subaru Outback south on Cottonwood Avenue in Hesperia. At the same time, Andrew F. Valdez was riding a 2021 Honda CBR motorcycle west on Sequoia Street.
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. In the process, the 22-year-old Hesperia rider collided with the car.
Woman, 71, Injured in Wreck
The Victor Valley News wrote that the accident occurred on October 16 at about 7:24 p.m. Both Raul Luna and Andrew Valdez died at the scene of the crash.
The passenger in the Subaru, a 71-year-old woman, survived the collision with minor injuries. Paramedics then rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, deputies forced the area of Cottonwood and Sequoia to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the Hesperia crash is still under investigation.
