Ravneel Vilash, 22, Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash at Santa Clara and 10th Streets
SAN JOSE, CA (September 3, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash at Santa Clara Street and 10th Street killed Ravneel Vilash in San Jose.
The Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the 22-year-old Hayward man as one of the victims in the wreck which occurred on Thursday.
The incident began when Ravneel Vilash was riding as a passenger in a gray 2010 Nissan SUV going south on 10th Street in San Jose.
At the same time, a 2005 BMW sedan was traveling west on East Santa Clara Street. For an unknown reason, the BMW ran a red light and struck the Nissan at the intersection.

The Nissan then plowed into a sidewalk barrier and into a storefront on the southwest corner. The BMW collided with a black 2012 Acura SUV that was stopped at the light facing the opposite direction.
San Jose police said Ravneel Vilash died at the scene of the crash. The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco wrote that the accident took place on September 2 at around 10:32 p.m.
The driver and a third occupant of the Nissan sustained moderate to major injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics soon rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
The motorist in the Acura ended up unharmed following the wreck. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the male driver of the BMW abandoned his car and fled on foot.
