Ray Segura, 33, and Fancy Castro, 30, Killed in Delano Crash at Highway 155 and Melcher
DELANO, CA (August 9, 2022) – Ray Segura and Fancy Castro were killed after a crash at Highway 155 and Melcher Road in Delano.
The coroner’s office identified the two Bakersfield residents as victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when 33-year-old Ray Segura was driving a Kia with Fancy Renee Castro, 30, as his passenger in Delano.
For an unknown reason, a 2015 Dodge ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 155, known as Garces Highway, and Melcher Road. The Dodge then slammed into the Kia.

The California Highway Patrol said both cars landed in a dirt field due to the impact of the collision. The Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now wrote that the accident occurred on August 6 at about 2 a.m.
Ray Segura and Fancy Castro sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics soon rushed them to the Kern Medical, where they died.
The driver of the Dodge, a 17-year-old boy, and one of his two passengers survived the incident with moderate injuries. The other occupant suffered moderate injuries following the wreck.
Medical personnel took all three patients to the same hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, CHP believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
The cause of the Delano crash is still under investigation.
