Child, 10, Injured in Traffic Collision at San Francisquito Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive Saturday
Santa Clarita, CA (June 7, 2021) – Police identified Raymond De la Rosa as the suspect in a DUI car crash that occurred in Santa Clarita on June 5, Saturday.
The KHTS News reported Raymond De la Rosa was driving a vehicle traveling near the area of San Francisquito Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive. As the man approached the intersection, the car drove off the traffic lanes and eventually crashed. It remained unclear whether a second vehicle played a role in the wreck.
Shortly after 11 p.m., deputies arrived at the location and found a 10-year-old passenger in the car of Raymond De la Rosa. Paramedics attended to the child, and later confirmed they sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. The name of the juvenile and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.

Responding officers reportedly spoke with Raymond De la Rosa at the scene. At some point, officers identified symptoms similar to someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Investigators conducted tests on the suspect and later confirmed he was drunk when the crash happened. For this reason, police arrested the Panorama City resident on felony DUI; due to the driver causing injury to another individual while under the influence; and felony child endangerment.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
