Reade Torrance Childres, 55, Killed in Leimert Park Hit-and-Run on Crenshaw Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 10, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed Reade Torrance Childres along Crenshaw Boulevard in Leimert Park.
Family members identified the 55-year-old man as the victim of the tragic accident which occurred earlier this month.
The incident happened on April 1 when Reade Torrance Childres was riding a moped southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard in Leimert Park. At the same time, an SUV was going the same direction.
For an unknown reason, the driver struck the back of the moped on Crenshaw near Westmount Avenue. Police said the rider ended up ejected onto the roadway upon impact.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found Reade Childres left lying on the ground following the crash. He suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the man to a hospital, where he died two days later. According to the KTLA News and My News LA, officers reported the accident at 2:35 p.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that motorist did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. Officials described the car involved as a black Ford Flex.
Police soon forced Crenshaw Boulevard to close for a time after the hit-and-run crash. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
