Construction Worker Hit and Injured by Vehicle at California and Yuba Street Monday
Redding, CA (June 28, 2021) – A 57-year-old man suffered injuries following a traffic accident in the area of California and Yuba Street Monday afternoon.
According to Action News Now, a 39-year-old Anderson woman was behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry heading east on Yuba Street. When the female driver approached the intersection at California Street, she stopped before proceeding onto California Street. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Toyota Camry veered away from oncoming traffic after realizing the street was only open to southbound vehicles.

Officials said the Camry ended up plowing through a chain-link fence. The article published online eventually struck a 57-year-old construction worker inside the fence.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. Firefighters worked immediately to free the worked pinned underneath the Camry. Due to the critical condition of the patient, paramedics rushed them to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the wreck.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the accident in Redding happened.
