Woman Fatally Struck by Semi Near Favretto Avenue
Redding, CA (November 20, 2022) – At least one person died following a pedestrian accident with a truck that occurred on State Street Saturday evening, the Action News Now reported.
Officials said a woman was lying inside a tent assembled along the south side of State Street. The horrible crash happened when a semi-trailer truck backed on State Street just west of Favretto Avenue. According to the article published online, the semi run over the woman inside a tent.
Pedestrian Pinned Under Truck on State Street in Redding
Shortly after 8:19 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the female pedestrian partially pinned underneath the truck. Firefighters worked extensively to pull out the victim, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries before being taken to a hospital. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger in the semi both appeared unharmed after the collision.
The Redding Police Department Traffic Unit continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on State Street in Redding.
