Redding Fatal DUI Car Crash Highway 299 Near Whiskeytown Scales

1 Killed in Head-On Car Accident on SR-299 Wednesday

REDDING, Ca (January 29, 2020) – One person died following a traffic collision triggered by a suspected DUI driver on Highway 299, the KRCR News reported.

The crash happened Wednesday evening.

Per local news source, a Chevy pickup and a Toyota pickup collided head-on on SR-299 just west of the Whiskeytown scales.

Officials later confirmed the woman driving the Chevy died as a result of the accident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, investigators determined the individual behind the wheel of the Toyota was driving under the influence. Police then arrested the DUI suspect.
