The incident happened when a 66-year-old Redding man was riding a motorcycle west on East Cypress Avenue near Bechelli Lane in Redding.

Motorcycle and Delivery Truck Collide
The motorcyclist then collided with the driver’s side of the truck and ended up trapped under the cargo area. The truck continued into the parking lot, dragged the bike which caught fire in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the rider lying wounded on the ground as a result of the collision. They rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officials forced a portion of East Cypress Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
Police found the origin of the truck’s load suspicious since it had over 900 catalytic converters at the time. The cause of the fatal Redding crash is still under investigation.
