1 Killed in Redding Crash on Interstate 5 Near Oasis Road
REDDING, CA (June 10, 2022) – A wrong-way crash killed at least one person on the Interstate 5 near Oasis Road in Redding.
According to an article published by the KRCRTV News, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 9:17 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about a wrong-way driver on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of Oasis Road, in Redding. At least two vehicles then collided.
Wrong-Way Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. The report did not mention if any other occupant ended up hurt following the wreck.
Meanwhile, the fatal Redding crash is still under investigation. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down at Twin View Boulevard near Oasis Road after the incident.
