REDDING (June 17, 2016)- According to the Record Searchlight, Justin Colvin, 27, of Redding, was struck by a drunk driver Friday morning.

Colvin had been crossing Buenaventura Boulevard at 1:20 a.m. upon being struck by a Jeep Liberty being driven by Melanie Wheeler, 47.

Per the Record Searchlight, Wheeler’s vehicle drifted toward the sidewalk and struck the 27-year-old man as he walked along the sidewalk.

Colvin was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Wheeler was arrested at the scene and faces charges while being held at Shasta County Jail.
