Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Redding Crash at East Street and South Street
REDDING, CA (Oct0ber 17, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at East Street and South Street in Redding.
According to an article published by the Action News Now, the accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly before 10:15 a.m.
The incident happened when two people were walking a dog northbound on East Street were crossing South Street in the city. Redding police said they were within a marked pedestrian crosswalk at the time.
A 2015 Toyota Prius C made a left turn onto eastbound South Street. For an unknown reason, the driver failed to see the victims in the road.

In the process, the car struck at least one pedestrian in the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found one person hurt.
The patient sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel rushed the individual to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police did not mention if the motorist stopped or stayed at the site following the incident.
Officers forced the area of East Street and South Street to shut down after the collision. The cause of the Redding pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
