Man Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Cascade Wonderland Highway Saturday
Redding, CA (September 4, 2021) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 5 Saturday evening.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a vehicle struck an individual in the southbound side of I-5, also known as Cascade Wonderland Highway, in Redding. Officials said the collision took place near Cypress Avenue at about 8:27 p.m.
When emergency teams arrived at the site, they found a vehicle engulfed in flames. First responders also located a victim with injuries consistent to being hit by a car.
Pedestrian Hospitalized After Accident in Redding, September 4
Paramedics rendered aid to the pedestrian. An ambulance later transported the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Pending confirmation, the name of the injured party and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.
At this time, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the pedestrian accident in Redding happened.
