SUV Driver William Chambers Sustains Broken Hip and Other Injuries
REDDING, CALIFORNIA (March 29, 2016) – One person was airlifted to the hospital following a collision between a SUV and a big rig on Highway 299 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Record Searchlight.
The accident happened at around 2:38 p.m. near Buckhorn Summit.
Preliminary report stated that a Kia Sorento was traveling westbound on the highway when it left its lane, trying to pass another vehicle.
The event led the Kia to struck against a Peterbilt semitrailer.
The force from the impact wrecked the Kia with its rear against the dirt embankment. While the rig was partially jack-knifed, as mentioned in the article.
The Record Searchlight pblished that the Kia driver, 72-year-old William Chambers, of Lewiston, was airlifted by CHP helicopter to Mercy Medical Center.
Chambers was pronounced by the hospital to have sustained a broken hip and other injuries from the smash.
Meanwhile, the rig driver identified as 58-year-old Foster Brovan, of Shingletown did not suffer any wounds from the incident.
Investigators assigned to handle the case continue to gather more evidences that will lead them to closure of the matter.
