REDONDO BEACH, California (April 2, 2016) – According to NBC Los Angeles, a fatal 2-vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Aviation Way on Saturday morning.
George Hartel, 55, has been identified as the man killed in this crash.
Police said the crash took place just before 9 a.m. near a gas station when two cars collided at the intersection.
Both vehicles spun, and subsequently one was forced into a traffic signal pole.
As per the article, a male driver was ejected from his white Acura which was totaled. Daily Bulletin added that the motorist was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, NBC Los Angeles affirmed that the other driver was uninjured. He did not appear to have been driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
