3 Injured in Alleged DUI Car Accident on Highway 101

December 24, 2018 – Injuries were reported following a suspected DUI car crash on Highway 101 Sunday evening, according to the Mercury News.
As per the article, a Mazda MX-5 and a Hyundai Sonata sedan collided on northbound Highway 101 near Whipple Road interchange. Emergency teams arrived at the scene shortly after 7:50 p.m., and found at least two parties suffering in injuries.

Officials said two people in the Hyundai sustained moderate injuries as a result of the accident. Meanwhile, a 6-year-old in the back seat of the Hyundai was reportedly unharmed in the collision.
Investigators determined the driver of the Mazda was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Stanford Medical Center for treatment before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The detectives handling the case continue to investigate the accident.
