2 Killed, 3 Injured in Redwood City Crash at El Camino Real and Finger Avenue
REDWOOD CITY, CA (November 4, 2022) – A crash killed two people and injured several others at El Camino Real and Finger Avenue in Redwood City.
According to the KRON 4 News and CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 8 p.m.
Redwood City police said the incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. The cars crashed at the intersection of El Camino Real and Finger Avenue.
A witness believed that two drivers were racing and then at least one of them slammed into a car that pulled out into the intersection. Two vehicles came to a stop on the west sidewalk of El Camino with major damage.
2 Cars Collide
One of the cars caught fire due to the impact of the collision. A 17-year-old motorist and two other occupants of the same vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police added that the driver and the front-passenger of the other car ended up trapped inside. Both died as a result of the accident.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of El Camino and Finger to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Redwood City crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the RCPD at (650) 780-7111.
